AUGUST 20, HOLIDAY!

August 20 is a special non-working holiday to commemorate the death anniversary of Senator Benigno Aquino Jr., Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita has announced.
Aquino was assassinated on Aug. 21, 1983 but Ermita said Wednesday that the holiday was moved to August 20, a Monday, as part of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s “holiday economics.”
